Aluminium is a common material for guttering. It’s significantly more expensive than PVC gutters, but it will last a lot longer and is more durable and impact resilient, rendering it a good investment. Aluminium guttering is usually manufactured in one of two different choices. Cast aluminium is more expensive but has a traditional appeal and can be matched to most pre-existing cast iron gutters. Seamless aluminium guttering is frequently marginally less expensive and has a modern aesthetic. Seamless guttering is made using an aluminium rolling machine which can create lengths to match any building size without joints. This contributes to a particularly durable gutter which demands less maintenance than other types as without joints there are less points of failure. Seamless guttering has a very modern aesthetic and is suitable to modern properties.

Aluminium guttering will not corrode or rust, rendering it an exceptionally appealing material for use in guttering, particularly in areas that experience significant snowfall or regular heavy rain. Aluminium guttering can be powder painted to a range of colours, which makes it great for use on buildings which have painted window or door frames as it can be coloured to match these. Additionally, aluminium is broadly recycled, and a big percentage of the aluminium guttering being manufactured makes use of recycled aluminium. In addition to the long life-span of these guttering systems, aluminium is a remarkably sustainable option.

Chard is a town and a civil parish in the English county of Somerset. It lies on the A30 road close to the Devon border, 15 miles (24 km) south west of Yeovil. The parish has a population of approximately 13000 and, at an elevation of 121 metres (397 ft), Chard is the southernmost and highest town in Somerset. Administratively Chard forms part of the district of South Somerset. The name of the town was Cerden in 1065 and Cerdre in the Domesday Book of 1086. Following the Norman Conquest, Chard was held by the Bishop of Wells. The town’s 1st charter was from King John in 1234. Chard is most famously called the birthplace of powered flight, as in 1848, John Stringfellow initially established that engine-powered flight was achievable. Percy and Ernist Petter, who formed Westland Aircraft Works, witnessed a number of Stringfellow’s demonstrations in Chard and often asked for support in the formation of Westland’s first aircraft development factory on the outskirts of Yeovil. Agusta Westland now holds the Henson and Stringfellow lecture yearly for the RAeS. Chard Reservoir, approximately a mile north east of the town, is a Local Nature Reserve, and Snowdon Hill Quarry a geological Site of Special Scientific Interest. Major employers inside the town consist of Numatic International Limited and the Oscar Mayer food processing plant. You can find a variety of sporting and cultural facilities, with secondary education being delivered at Holyrood Academy. Religious sites include the Church of St Mary the Virgin which dates from the late 11th century.
